Terms of Use

The short version. FamilyFirstPlan.org is a free education site run by Sydney Troski, an independent licensed life insurance agent. By using the site, the calculators, the courses or the community you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Educational use only. Everything here, including the three calculators, the member tools, the courses, the quizzes, the community and any message from Sydney Troski, is for general education. The calculators produce estimates based on what you type in and on published averages. They are not quotes, offers of insurance, applications, or promises that any coverage or price is available to you. Real numbers come only from a carrier's written illustration and policy contract, and those control over anything shown on this site. See the Disclosures page for details.

No advice. Nothing on this site is tax, legal, investment or personalized financial advice, and nothing here creates an agent and client relationship until you and Sydney Troski agree to one directly. Before you buy, change or cancel any policy, or make a decision about taxes, your estate or your investments, speak with a qualified professional who knows your situation.

Membership is free. There is no charge to join, to use the tools or to take the courses, and no charge will be added later without your clear agreement. You must be 18 or older to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign in details private and for what happens under your account. One account per person. Give us accurate information and keep it current.

Community rules. The community exists so families can ask honest questions and share wins. Be kind, be truthful and stay on topic. Do not post anything that is illegal, harassing, hateful, sexual, spam, or a sales pitch for another product or service. Do not post another person's private information, including health details, without their permission. Do not give what reads as professional advice unless you are licensed to give it and say so. Do not post content you do not have the right to share. Do not try to break, scrape, overload or gain unauthorized access to the site.

Removal. Sydney Troski and the site team may edit, hide or delete any post, and may suspend or close any account, at any time and without notice if we believe these rules have been broken or the community is being harmed. We may also close inactive accounts after a long period without use, after emailing you first. You can close your own account at any time by messaging Sydney Troski.

Your content. You keep ownership of what you post. By posting you give FamilyFirstPlan.org a free, worldwide license to display, store and share your post within the site so the community works, and to quote it without your name in site materials. We will not use your name or likeness in marketing without your written permission.

Intellectual property. The FamilyFirstPlan.org name, logo, page designs, calculator logic, course lessons, quizzes, tools, illustrations and text are owned by FamilyFirstPlan.org or licensed to it and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may use them for your own personal, non commercial learning. You may not copy, republish, sell, scrape or build a product on them without written permission. Carrier names and logos belong to their owners and are used only to identify companies Sydney Troski works with.

Third party links. The site links to outside resources such as government pages and the booking calendar. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

No warranty. The site is provided as is and as available. We work to keep it accurate and running, but we do not promise that it will be error free, uninterrupted, or that any estimate, lesson or fact is complete or current for your situation.

Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent the law allows, FamilyFirstPlan.org, Sydney Troski, and anyone who helps run the site are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any decision you make in reliance on the site, its calculators, its courses or its community. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to one hundred US dollars. Some states do not allow these limits, so some of this may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits the duties Sydney Troski owes you under state insurance law if you become a client.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute that cannot be settled by talking it through will be heard in the state or federal courts serving Spartanburg County, South Carolina, and you agree to that venue. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.

Changes. We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you when. If a change is significant we will email account holders. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
